who am i?

I'm Zakaria Matuli, currently a Junior at West Springfield High School in West Springfield, Massachusetts

I'm a Photographer based in West Springfield, specializing in Action, Portrait, and Event photography with a little bit of Robotics dabbled in.

I originally started my photography journey after discovering that my robotics team (FRC 1027) needed a photographer for the 2 upcoming competitions in the 2024 season, and I happily obliged as I was still finding my place on team. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life!

Since my start in 2024, I've been able to take on jobs such as being the lead photographer for the West Springfield High School Yearbook Team and the school's Robotics Team, and as photographer for the West Springfield Music Parent's Association and West Springfield Italian Cultural Club; along with many other local organizations!

Here's a little bit on my hope's and dream's in life: I'm super interested in (unironically) the physical field of Optics and Waves, it's become one of my largest interests in my life, with me pursuing Optical Engineering as  major when I graduate from High School next spring. I discovered my love for Optics when I first learned of all of the intricacies  and engineering that goes into a lens that I use to photograph a person. Something that I have on my bucket list is to one day create my own Lithography machine to create a simple microchip, I also want to create my own pair of Night Vision Goggles (If ITAR doesn't stop me), and I really want to take a photograph of Saturn while in space.
